The area is rich in wildlife and close by you will find the RSPB Tollie Red Kites nature reserve, where red kites can be viewed from a specially-converted farmstead building. Strathpeffer is ideally placed for touring the wider area of the Northern Highlands, and Loch Ness, the Isle of Skye, and the Cairngorm National Park can be accessed quite easily.
