The property

Thirsk 4.6 miles. Nestled on the outskirts of Thirsk, in the pretty village of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliff, is this superb stone barn conversion. Internally, the property has been renovated to provide a contemporary base for friends and families, whilst still managing to retain its period features such as the stone floors and exposed beams. Entering the property, you will find a boot room where you can kick off your muddy shoes and hang your coats after a long day of exploring. From here, walk through to the kitchen, which has a lovely set of contemporary white units and sleek worktops, providing a selection of appliances for cooking up some delicious meals. To the left is the sitting room with a warming wood-burning stove for those chillier winter months, curled up and enjoying a family movie night. Once the evening draws to a close, retire to one of the three well-presented bedrooms resting across the first floor, comprising of a super-king-size, a double, and a single, so no matter your group type, there will be something to suit your needs. Delight in the upstairs family bathroom, with deluxe fixtures and fittings so you can enjoy a warm soak at the end of a tiring day. Step out to the enclosed garden with lawn and patio areas where you can sit with a refreshing beverage and watch the sunset. The vast fields surrounding Woodside Barn also back on to Gormire Lake, which is a beautiful walk where you are likely to spot deer, hare, various birds of prey, wild geese and even a fox or badger if you’re lucky! Resting so close to the beautiful North York Moors National Park, you are ideally placed for exploring the rolling countryside. Sutton Bank is home to one of the best bicycle and walking routes and views in North Yorkshire as well as being a great place to sit and watch the gliders take off, and if you are a lover of the great outdoors there are plenty of other trails for walking and cycling found at Cleveland Way. One pleasant early evening, continue animal spotting by counting the sheep, horses and even llamas in the nearby fields. Be sure to visit the market towns of Northallerton and Thirsk for a number of traditional Yorkshire pubs and restaurants, as well as a selection of shops and supermarkets for picking up any last-minute essentials. Take the opportunity to visit Thirsk Museum, a historic home with interesting displays, or Hambleton Hills, perfect for exploring. The nearby lakes and rivers are ideal for those keen on getting involved with some water sports, including sailing and fishing. Woodside Barn is an excellent base for a country break to North Yorkshire. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1052313 & 1134525, together sleeping 13 guests.
