The property
Newly updated, this fabulous very well appointed cottage is located in Holmbury St Mary, nestled in the heart of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Large, light and welcoming this beautiful cottage has stunning views over the thousands of acres of woodland surrounding it.
A perfect choice for couples, friends and families looking to stay in a countryside setting only a short walk from a quintessential English village where the church overlooks the village green and two popular village pubs offer delicious meals with a fine selection of local food and ales.
With five bedrooms, all with different layouts, and two bathrooms, you will be sure to find a bedroom to exactly fit your needs when staying at Woodhill Cottage.
There are two delightful sitting rooms, both with exceptionally comfy sofas. One for relaxing together in the spacious, light and airy Garden Room, with a vaulted ceiling, lantern windows and French doors that can be thrown open to let the soft breeze drift in during warm Summer days. The other for cosying up in the Snug in front of the open fire, reading a book or watching TV in cooler months.
If you need to work or study while staying at Woodhill Cottage, then a bureau and chair is provided for just that purpose.
The Surrey Hills is a magnet for visitors either on foot, saddle or cycle. The area was the backdrop to the London 2012 Olympic Cycle Road Race and boasts miles of excellent mountain bike single track.
With such magnificent scenery all around, you would be excused for never wanting to explore further afield. However, nearby you can visit Denbies Wine Estate, Silent Pool gin distillery, the stunning National Trust property Polesdon Lacey, or the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Wisley. Dorking and Guildford offer the chance for exploring antique shops and picking up supplies, if you want more than the local produce sold down the road at the Kingfisher Farm Shop. You can walk or bike to the top of Leith Hill and enjoy a cake and some well-deserved refreshment whilst admiring the stunning view to the South Downs in one direction and London in the other.
Why not even include a day visiting the capital during your time at Holmbury St Mary?
Only 40 minutes by train and you can be in London taking in the sights and sounds of this bustling and iconic city. You could visit St Paul's Cathedral or Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard, or maybe take a river trip along the Thames passing the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben and under Tower Bridge, before heading to the West End for a show.
With so much to see and do you will find yourselves needing to return.
