The property
A modern, lodge-style cottage on the Offas Dyke Path, in the popular village of Pandy, six miles from the market town of Abergavenny. Furnished in a modern style, with comfort in mind, this detached lodge is situated adjacent to the owners property and the perfect base for a romantic break for couples who wish to explore the Welsh border countryside of Monmouthshire and Herefordshire. Accessed through its own garden, this cosy cottage is set on the ground floor and has one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The open plan living area leads out onto a courtyard-style garden and patio, where you can look across to the instantly recognisable peak of Skirrid Mountain, a perfect view to enjoy whilst planning your day ahead over a morning cup of tea. The Offas Dyke Path offers fabulous walks from your doorstep, which can be extended to the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) and Black Mountains with just a short drive. Fishing can also be arranged on the owners private stretch of the River Honddu, which runs through Pandy. The village boasts two pubs, so after a day exploring the area, you can unwind and enjoy the local village life. Pay a visit to the bustling market town of Abergavenny, known as the Gateway to Wales, or take a trip over The Blorenge to the World Heritage Centre of The Big Pit National Coal Museum, a tribute to the industrial heritage of South Wales. Take time out to explore the stunning Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) on foot or by bike, and the city of Cardiff is also within driving distance. This lovely lodge-style cottage is perfect for a couples retreat, an ideal base to explore the myriad of walks, cycle trails and renowned restaurants in the local area.
