Bickleigh 1 mile. Figtree cottage is situated on the steep slopes overlooking the stunning Exe valley in Mid Devon. A wooden construction by Swedish experts, this detached Devon cottage sits on the site of an old sheep shearing shed. The cottage is in a peaceful rural location, a mile from the noted beauty spot of Bickleigh. Local wildlife can often be seen in the area such as deer, hawks and buzzard, plus sheep and cattle in the fields next door to the cottage.On the grounds of the owners' house, Fig tree cottage has its own private driveway, with far-reaching, stunning, countryside views and spacious rooms, ideal for a family looking to enjoy a cottage holiday in Devon. There is a sitting room with lovely oak floor, warming wood-burning stove and large TV with surround sound. The kitchen/dining room is a bright, sunny room overlooking the picturesque garden. In this Devon cottage, there are also four large, beautifully furnished bedrooms, one en-suite, with two further bathrooms situated over the ground and first floors, for convenience. The large, private garden at your Devon cottage is a perfect place to enjoy the panoramic views on a summer's day. The garden is west-facing and during the summer months the sunsets are breath-taking. Even in peak summertime this part of Mid Devon is tranquil and quiet. A walk up the lane reveals a different, but equally stunning, view from every gateway. Just one mile down the lane from the cottage, is Bickleigh Mill, a historic water mill, café and gift shop, where you can spend the day dining alfresco by the River Exe. The cottage is situated within easy driving distance of both Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Visit one of the many National Trust houses in the area surrounding your Devon cottage, or visit the small market town of Tiverton nearby. Explore the historic city of Exeter with its impressive cathedral, excellent shopping malls, galleries, bars and restaurants. The cottage is midway between Devon’s north and south coastlines, convenient for a day out to either. A stay at this well-appointed Bickleigh cottage will certainly be a Devon family holiday to remember.

Essential kitchen pack provided which includes a green scouring sponge, fairy washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, tin foil, tea towels, oven gloves, bin liner, dishcloth, hand sanitizer are also included for your protection. Note: we sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob, we use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, we wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination, we clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists and we provide extra cleaning supplies for your protection.
