Following your journey up to the cottage along a single track road, take in the spectacular surroundings before heading inside. Reconnect with your loved ones and nature in this property and spend time out in the garden or on the patio to soak up the scenery from and a good-sized lawn for games with the children. Take time to sit and watch the fields resting next to the house, with frequent visits from deer to catch sight of, as well as buzzards and eagles to keep an eye out for too! Enjoy this off-the-grid experience in the longest enclosed glen in Scotland, Glenlyon, spanning 32 miles, it's a haven for walkers thanks to its many munros and lower level walks. Anglers can look forward to spending tranquil days fishing along the River Lyon, or heading to Loch Lyon to catch trout. The Highlands mountain of Ben Lawers is within easy reach and is a popular hiking spot with incredible views to take in from the summit of the surrounding mountains and lakes, including Loch Tay. Visit the Bridge of Balgie Post Office & Coffee Shop (8.7 miles) for a hot drink, perfect for a stop off mid walk. Venture down to Killin to find a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy during your stay, with the village settled around the River Dochart and lying at the bottom of the loch. Head to Killin Outdoor Centre to hire an array of outdoor and watersports equipment for adventures upon Loch Tay, with this loch being known for its excellent salmon fishing too. Why not visit the historic Fontingal with ancient yew at the entrance to Glenlyon, pretty Kenmore at the eastern end of Loch Tay or for more extensive facilities, the main town of Abberfeldy.
