Summary

The cottage is well-located, comfortable, and clean, with good amenities for cooking and entertainment. Guests appreciated the responsive service and overall charm. Some minor improvements could be made, such as providing more toiletries. Parking may be a concern, but guests enjoyed their stays and expressed a desire to return.

The property

A lovingly restored, traditional terraced cottage situated in the very heart of the village of Tideswell. Dating back to the 1700s, the cottage was once part of a shop, Chapmans of Tideswell, a newsagent and printing company. During WWII, the rear part of the present-day kitchen was used as a telephone exchange, hence the name of the property. Refurbished to a high standard throughout, great care has been taken to create a warm, comfortable holiday cottage in an idyllic location. Offering well equipped accommodation with two bedrooms, the property is just a short walk from the amenities of the village, including excellent old pubs, fine local eateries, intriguing curiosity shops, and cafes. With its central position in the heart of the Peak District National Park, and close proximity to Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House, Exchange Cottage is the perfect base for a relaxing or romantic break.
