Dating back to the late nineteenth century, Old Coastguard Cottages in Amble, Northumberland, directly overlooks a small bay and harbour creating simply sublime views and making it the perfect holiday destination for a family or friends travelling together. The warm and welcoming living space makes the most of those captivating coastal views with feature windows framing the room and together with a woodburning stove and comfy seating, makes for a really inviting room. Step into the kitchen which is equipped with everything needed to produce delicious food for the whole holiday party and when it’s time for tea, take a seat at the rustic dining table and indulge in long and relaxed meals together. To the front of the property there is a charming sloping garden which overlooks the sea and is the ideal spot for getting up close and personal to the ever-changing sea views. All that sea air will no doubt tire everyone out so at bedtime, choose from a queen-size, a double or a second-floor master bedroom complete with a sumptuous king-size bed. The picturesque coastal village of Amble is on the doorstep where you will find a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. You can book an angling trip from here and just a short distance south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
