The nearby coastal village of Warkworth has plenty of local shops and pubs to visit, as well as its own piece of 12th century history in the form of Warkworth Castle and Hermitage, set on a hilltop over the River Croquet. Warkworth also has a lovely beach with a long stretch of sand as well as a golf club.
