The property

Resting in the centre of Wooler, Northumberland is this quaint property, Woolley Lodge. Perfect for a family of four or two couples, the single-story semi-detached cottage hosts two bedrooms and sits on the doorstep to Northumberland National Park, offering views of the Cheviots from a fantastic, large rear garden and allows one well-behaved dog. Admire the row of pretty, stone-wall properties on the quiet street before stepping inside your holiday home, where there is a small entrance to leave your shoes before settling in. The open-plan living/dining room is a welcoming space with charming painted beams, feature fireplaces, dining for four and an inviting leather suite, including two armchairs and a sofa; start the woodburning stove for added comfort whilst you gather the family together for a movie night. A skylight brings plenty of natural light into the smart, contemporary kitchen, where you can prepare hearty breakfasts and hot dinners using the fabulous range cooker and induction hob, and a generous fridge/freezer is ideal for stocking up on your favourite ingredients. After exploring nearby attractions or trekking through the National Park, the bathroom is the perfect setting to unwind; wash the day away in the walk-in shower or relax in the bubbles of the roll top bath, whilst your towel warms up on the heated towel rail. Two bright, airy bedrooms invite guests to climb under the sheets and rest their heads ready for the next day's adventures, including a king-size bed with gorgeous, hand-painted furnishings, as well as a twin with storage for belongings. With the sun shining, why not take your meal outside to Woolley Lodge's fabulous, multi-level garden? Bursting with plants and plenty of lawn space for picnics, alongside decking with outdoor seating where you can enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the church bells, you'll want to make the most of this wonderful outdoor space that boasts views of the Cheviots. At the top of the garden lies an external games room which younger guests will relish as a little escape. Woolley Lodge is in a central location for exploring Wooler and other historic locations; a short journey will take you to the market town's amenities, making for a comfortable self-catering holiday with plenty of shops and dining options within reach, as well as being a popular base for walkers. Drive east to the picturesque coast where Bamburgh, is home to a pristine sandy beach, jus a 30 minute drive away, overlooked by the looming Bamburgh Castle, or head to the centre for the fascinating Grace Darling Museum, commemorating the life of Victorian Britain’s greatest heroine. Berwick-upon-Tweed is another historic town lying north of Woolley Lodge, known for its Elizabethan town walls, spectacular views across the River Tweed estuary and Berwick's three bridges, alongside four sandy beaches for sun-filled days by the sea. Travel south to Alnwick, nestled in the heart of Northumberland; visit the medieval Alnwick Castle with Harry Potter-inspired activities, stop at The Treehouse Restaurant for a fairy-tale dinner inside the expansive Alnwick Gardens, before finishing the day at Bailiffgate Museum to explore local history and heritage inside an incredible church.
