In Rothbury you will find the National Trust Cragside house and gardens, which is well worth a visit to view the lovely scenery and woodland walks. You can end the day with a walk along the River Coquet before choosing a restaurant of your choice. Alnwick is well known for its Castle and Gardens. And don’t miss out on visiting the famous Barter’s books! If you enjoy live music the Alnwick Brewery Company and tap room will keep you entertained – as will the home-brewed ales. Morpeth is not too far away for another day out; Vindolanda (Roman remains) and Housesteads and the Sill are less than an hour’s drive as are Corbridge and Hexham.
