Trackside

Trackside is a charming, terraced railway cottage in the pretty village of Ruswarp, 1.5 miles from the historic town of Whitby in North Yorkshire.

This delightful retreat is a hidden haven and welcomes up to two small/medium four-legged travelling companions. It is a short stroll from the railway station, giving you car-free access to Whitby in a matter of minutes.

As you turn the key to your holiday home, you’ll open the door to some truly lovely living spaces.
A modern kitchen fully equipped with an array of appliances and a full-sized range leads you into the open dining area where you can enjoy a hearty meal sitting at the large oak dining table – let the conversations flow as you discuss tomorrow’s adventures!

For your evening relaxation, the sitting room invites you to take the weight off your feet while you unwind in front of the crackling embers of the woodburning stove. Cosy up to watch TV or get lost in a good book, the choice is yours! The generous window seating area offers unobstructed views of the garden and steam railway – the perfect spot to enjoy a freshly brewed morning coffee.

Head outside in the warmer months to the multi-level patio and enjoy some alfresco-style dining, or relax with a warm blanket at the furnished summer house at the bottom of the garden, taking in the majestic and powerful steam trains that pass by giving the property its name.

As you make your way up to bed you will be greeted by a spacious king-size bedroom, a double bedroom and a pleasant single bedroom, all tastefully decorated to make you feel right at home.
Before a peaceful night’s sleep, enjoy a soak in the bath to feel fully relaxed or take a refreshing shower in the morning to start your day.

Take a short stroll to the cosy local pub to enjoy a freshly cooked meal, visit the award-winning local butchers/deli, or head to the station for a regular service to Whitby – this bustling and unique harbour attraction only a few minutes away by train! Here you’ll find Whitby Abbey, the famous Whalebone Arch, the Dracula Experience and host of other discoveries in this popular seaside town.

Alternatively, take the scenic walk between to Whitby along the river Esk beneath the grandeur of Larpool viaduct, a gentle 1.5-mile flat stroll taking in unique riverside wildlife along its 30-minute route. Keep a look out for seals.With a wealth of attractions and destinations only a short walk or drive away, your visit to the North Yorkshire Coast isn’t complete without a stay at Trackside.
