Whitby is also home to the Captain Cook Memorial Museum presenting a historical exhibition about Cook himself, or for a more active day out, climb the famous 199 steps to the Whitby Abbey, and within a short drive you can visit the North York Moors National Park. You are close to Robin Hood's Bay which is full of heritage wonders and scenic spots, and in reach of the bustling towns of Scarborough and Middlesbrough.
