The property
Pipit House is a traditional fisherman's cottage resting within the bustling coastal town of Whitby North Yorkshire, whilst still enjoying a quiet position tucked away from the seaside amusements. Set over three floors, this dog-friendly, charming home offers the ideal base for families or groups of four looking for a coastal break. Well-located to a whole host of attractions, eateries, shops, and the beach, Pitpit House delivers an open-plan living space with private front courtyard and rear decked terrace, with outdoor seating. The living space, features homely interiors, a woodburning stove, original beamed ceilings, and a well-equipped kitchen. After long summer walks or brisk winter strolls, head upstairs to the first floor and indulge in a deep soak in the free-standing bath, or opt for a refreshing shower, before heading to either the twin bedroom, or the super-king-size (zip/link), located on the second-floor with stunning elevated views across the marina and estuary. Within minutes, walk to the centre of Whitby to experience many of its wonderful sites, where you can climb the 199 steps up to St Mary’s Church and take in the commanding views of the coast below, before continuing to the eerie ruins of Whitby Abbey and its 7th century structure and discover the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Begin your descent back down the steps and cross Whitby Bridge to see the famous Whalebone Arch, or, as it’s just a short walk away from your cottage, dig your toes into the golden sands of Whitby Beach as you stroll across to Sandsend for a delectable lunch at one of the many beachfront cafes; be sure to join the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast walking trail, including The Cinder Track for the best views. Continue your adventure to Scarborough, with the chance to visit SEA LIFE Scarborough, Peasholm Park, and the bustling harbour, and the possible opportunity to watch one of many events hosted at Scarborough Open Air Theatre, before travelling into the county to stock up on your local knowledge at Beck Isle Museum and North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Pipit House is the perfect place to spend your next holiday to North Yorkshire with your loved ones.
