Today it is popular with walkers and cyclists who come to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside. Sheriff Hutton benefits from a village post office and general store, artisan wine shop, Quarmbys delicatessen and coffee shop, two pubs, pizza take-away, butcher and sandwich shop.
