Summary

The accommodation received praise for its charm, cleanliness, and excellent location. Guests appreciated the welcome pack, garden, and proximity to food and beaches. However, issues with the front door lock were frequently mentioned, making access difficult and prompting use of the back door. Some noise from church bells was also noted.

The property

Nestled in the small village of Hunmanby, within North Yorkshire, is this superb period cottage. Internally, the property has been renovated to provide a warm and welcoming base for friends and families seeking an escape to the countryside, within close proximity to the beautiful Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast. To the front of the property is a spacious dining room with a feature fireplace where you can gather for a delicious home-cooked meal of an evening, or bring some board games with you and use this space to spread out and enjoy a friendly game. Walk through to the sitting room and delight in its contemporary decor with quality furnishings to curl up and unwind into the evening, with an original brick fireplace housing an open fire to keep you warm and toasty. The kitchen is wonderfully placed to the rear of the cottage and has been fitted to a high standard with all the appliances you could need to rustle up some delicious meals. Resting on the first floor are two well-presented bedrooms, consisting of a double and twin, both of which have a range of furniture for storing your personal items. Take a refreshing drink out to the patio area where you can simply enjoy the fresh country air whilst your pet runs around freely. Hunmanby is a lovely village with access to a range of traditional Yorkshire pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience, as well as a selection of shops and supermarkets for picking up those last-minute essentials. You are close to the beautiful Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast for a plethora of country and coastal trails, with ample opportunities for birdwatching and photography at the RSPB Bempton Cliffs Seabird Centre. Also nearby is the Sunday Times beach of the year 2018, Filey Beach, which is ideal for those seeking to explore the coast and spend the afternoon sunbathing, swimming or playing a variety of beach games. Travel towards the thriving coastal town of Scarborough which has plenty of attractions which are well-worth a visit. Scarborough Castle dates back over 3,000 years and has stunning views of the Yorkshire coastline. Keen walkers will enjoy the Japanese theme of Peasholm Park, as well as the SEA LIFE Scarborough being nearby which has family-friendly exhibits with a range of exotic sea creatures to spot; something your little ones will delight in. Return to Stonegate for a relaxing evening with your loved ones in front of the warming fire.
