Summary

Feedback highlights a beautiful, well-equipped cottage in a lovely setting, praised for cleanliness, comfort, and views. However, concerns were raised about significant mold issues and difficult access. Many enjoyed their stay and plan to return, citing the welcoming ambiance and amenities.

The property

Afallon, a terraced cottage, rests in the Machno Valley in the Snowdonia National Park, just over four miles from the ever-popular village of Betws-y-Coed. Surrounded by marvellous walking, cycling and birdwatching country and with much more to see and do nearby, this is a lovely spot to base your next adventure-filled North Wales retreat. Enter this welcoming cottage and discover on your right a pleasant sitting room which has plenty of plush seating for everyone to relax in front of the TV and open fire - the perfect way to end a day of exploration. This room leads onto a lovely kitchen/diner, with a rustic wooden dining table sitting to the side whilst the well-equipped kitchen area is lined with delightful cream units and all the essentials needed for your self-catering exploits. All three of Afallon's bedrooms, two doubles and a single, enjoy pleasant décor and display picturesque views of the Machno Valley, along with all offering ample storage for belongings. The first floor also occupies a glistening, all-white shower room, which hosts a walk-in shower, providing you with somewhere to feel refreshed before you start an exciting day ahead. Start your day in the right way by taking a seat on the peaceful patio at the front of the property; the luscious rural views are the perfect accompaniment to your morning coffee. Take a short stroll, among views of lush countryside in this idyllic setting, over to the local village store in Penmachno, a tranquil location which also hosts a welcoming pub where you can tuck into a tasty pub grub after a meander around the countryside. North Wales' favourite inland resort, Betws-y-Coed, is very close by, offering a number of quaint amenities, waterfalls and even Zip World Fforest and Bounce Below on the outskirts of the village. This National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with superb opportunities for walking, climbing, and cycling to name a few, with amazing family-friendly attractions including the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Gwydyr Forest Park and the Penmachno Mountain Bike Trails. Visit the Ffestiniog Mountain Railway for a unique experience along 13 miles of picturesque views, over to the exciting harbour town of Porthmadog, or the exceptional Italianate village of Portmeirion. With Snowdon Peak and Colwyn Bay further afield, Afallon is a delightful cottage placed conveniently for experiencing the wonders of Snowdonia.
