The property
Greffyn is a charming, detached stone-built cottage resting a stone's throw from the village of Betws-y-Coed in Eryri (Snowdonia), North Wales. This well-equipped holiday home sits within the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, making it an ideal escape for groups of friends or a family looking to explore the great outdoors of North Wales. An attractive living room welcomes you back from a day of adventure, set around a characterful inglenook fireplace boasting a woodburning stove to keep you warm while watching TV in the evening. Adjacent to this sits a games room, playing host to a pool table and a TV to keep the children occupied while you kick back with a relaxing drink. The kitchen/diner is smartly furnished and well-appointed, with a dining table seating six allowing your group to come together for an evening meal. Take the stairs to the first floor to find the three stylishly decorated bedrooms; the master double benefitting from an en-suite shower room, a further double and lastly a twin room, the latter two sharing a family bathroom with the option of an overhead shower. Enjoy the peaceful location from the table and chairs to the front of the property, before setting off on a walk through Gwydir Forest just half a mile away. Take a walk into the village of Betws-y-Coed, lined with a choice of delightful eateries and unique, independent shops, while two rivers running close by bring an element of natural beauty to your visit. Lovers of the outdoors can take their pick of walks and activities close by, with the popular peaks of Glyder Fawr and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) nearby, as well as the National White Water Centre for those looking for something more adrenaline pumping. For adventure seekers, visit Zip World, spread across North Wales on three sites, with Zip Fforest being the closest and boasting the fastest zip line in the world, Velocity and Titan, offering a look back at the history of the slate mines finished by a 70 MPH zip over the stunning Welsh countryside, a perfect day out for all the family. Llanrwst is a market town close by with its own selection of little shops and cafés worth visiting, or head into the heart of Snowdonia to Blaenau Ffestiniog, home to the Ffestiniog Railway offering a tour of this magnificent National Park without having to move a muscle. The UNESCO World Heritage town of Conwy lies north of the property, boasting beautifully preserved town walls and a 13th century castle, providing a great day out learning of Wales’ rich history, from medieval battles right through to the modern day. Admire the revolutionary Telford Suspension Bridge, visit the Smallest House in Great Britain, and discover a host of quaint cafés and restaurants, with pubs that sit along the quay too. Explore this beautiful part of the world by hopping on your mountain bike and explore the Gwydir Mawr & Bach trails, spread all through the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and beyond, with trails for different abilities and covering all types of terrain.
