The property

This wonderful 19th century converted Methodist chapel lies in the heart of the Eden Valley, in the quiet and peaceful village of Sandford. Chapel Cottage offers comfortable and unique accommodation for a couple, two couples or a small family of four wanting to take advantage of this fantastic location; equidistant from the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, as well as the North Pennines AONB, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside on foot or bicycle. Enter the property and discover a homely sitting room with a plus sofa, placed in front of the lovely woodburning stove, alongside the TV with Blu-ray player, where you can enjoy a family movie night, curled up by the fire. Step into the kitchen/diner, where the dining table offers seating for the whole group to enjoy a meal together, with a bench that was reclaimed from the chapel when it was renovated, plus a well-equipped, contemporary kitchen, styled with neutral tones, offering a range of appliances to assist you with all of your culinary requirements. Upstairs are two bedrooms; a double with exposed stone feature wall and a charming twin with an exposed stone feature wall and sloping ceiling with Velux window offering a lovely countryside view, along with a family shower room, where you can all prepare for each day. Outside, there is roadside parking for one car, while at the front there is a charming, enclosed yard with seating, ideal for a morning coffee and a spot of breakfast in the sunshine. Sandford village has a lovely pub that is just a short walk away, while the historic town of Appleby-in-Westmoreland is just over four miles away, offering a wider selection of amenities and attractions. Resting in a loop of the River Eden and overlooked by the Pennine mountain range and offering distant views of the Lake District fells, this picturesque town offers fantastic walking and cycling opportunities, including the Cumbria Cycle Way, Westmorland Way, Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast Walk, as well as giving you the chance to watch steam trains pass by along the Settle-Carlisle railway. On the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Kirkby Stephen boasts old cobbled streets, fascinating, traditional architecture and delightful picnic spots with spectacular views of the North Pennine Ridge.
