The property
Nestled in the Lake District's rolling countryside, Yew Beck is a delightful, reverse-level, barn conversion perfect for a family getaway! Boasting two beautifully appointed bedrooms and a delightful open-plan living space with far-reaching views across the countryside, Yew Beck promises an unforgettable retreat.
After venturing up the country lane to reach the property, utilise the private parking and cross the threshold to begin your break. The owner lives in the farmhouse next door & has a small holding with 2 donkeys, sheep, 3 emus, turkeys, peacocks, guinea fowl & plenty of chickens - you are welcome to have their fresh eggs for your breakfast! Kick off your shoes and head straight up the stairs to unwind in front of the Smart TV and the warming glow of the woodburning stove; here you can watch on as one of your group cooks up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. Dine together around the spacious table before settling in for a night in front of the TV or admiring the spectacular sunset across Bethecar Moor and countryside from the Juliet balcony. When the evening draws to a close head back downstairs to catch up on your rest in either the king-size or twin bedroom; both boast handy en-suite shower rooms so you can freshen up ahead of your next adventure. In the morning venture out from Yew Beck to explore Bethecar Moor directly on the doorstep - 1361 acres of open fell rising to a height of 300 metres offering views of Morecambe Bay & Coniston Old Man. For walking & mountain biking, Grizedale Forest is just over 10 mins/ 4 miles away for mountain biking, (including bike hire). Walking, cafe & Go Ape. Challenge yourself by summiting fells such as The Old Man of Coniston and Claife Heights. If you'd rather take to the water then you're in luck; Coniston Water and Lake Windermere are nearby, providing cruises and watersports such as kayaking and paddleboarding. Don't miss out on the chance to explore Hawkshead - 20 mins / 7 miles away, described as the prettiest village in the Lake District with its Quaint streets, village squares, shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants, also the village of Windermere where you can uncover The World of Beatrix Potter, Holehird Gardens and Windermere Jetty Museum. Ulverston is also within reach, head into town for an evening away from the kitchen, visit the Sir John Barrow Monument or begin exploring the coast! All this and more awaits on your next trip to Yew Beck in the Lake District!
