Keen walkers can enjoy rambling around Queen’s Park, climbing Queen Adelaide’s Hill and walking the 3.5-mile route from Windermere to Orrest Head, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Windermere from the summit. This holiday home is also within distance of The World of Beatrix Potter, a popular children’s attraction which showcases the author’s tales in an interactive guided tour, plus there is Dove Cottage in Grasmere to visit – the former family home of William Wordsworth where he wrote the majority of his much-loved poems.
