At the end of a private lane, surrounded by panoramic views of the mountains and fells and with Brotherswater below, this property is completely and utterly glorious. Hartsop Dodd, High Hartsop, Hart Crag, Fairfield and St. Sunday Cragg, the landscape is as old as time and yours to enjoy from first light to sunset.
Hartsop, the setting for Cherry Garth, is an unspoilt hamlet in the Ullswater valley. 17th century buildings and houses make up what is now a small farming community. There are traces of former industries such as milling, mining and spinning, which explains why many of the properties are Grade 2 listed and the village is protected by the National Trust.
The cottage itself has been stunningly updated. The interior has been decorated in neutral tones, the furniture is modern and stylish, with stone and wooden floors in the living areas, and wall to wall carpets in the bedrooms. Entry to the property is through the boot/drying room, leading to the welcoming sitting room with open fire, comfortable seating and magnificent view. The large kitchen/dining room, dressed with granite and slate, is a wonderful space for family meals, planning walks and chatting over coffee.
