The property
Within a short walking distance to the heart of Grasmere village, the traditional 19th century Rowan Cottage overlooks the fells of Silver How and Helm Crag.
With enough space to sleep up to six people, it has been tastefully furnished with comfort in mind and features everything necessary for a family holiday to the Lakes.
On entry through this property's charming entrance hallway, you are lead to three bedrooms and a house bathroom, with the master bedroom boasting a feature Victorian fireplace and the second double bedroom including an en-suite. On the first floor, you will find a diner kitchen that is equipped with everything you'll need for a hearty meal and family catch-up. It also features a washing machine, giving everyone the opportunity to clean mucky clothes after exploring the outdoors. A first-floor cottage lounge with a rustic living flame gas fire makes for the perfect place to unwind and catch up on TV, whilst its characterful window seat and bay window provides a peaceful reading nook. You can also find an additional WC on this floor, which is great for cutting down on bathroom queues.
Rowan Cottage doesn't have a garden but is tucked away with rolling hills, fields to play in and a local pub just on its doorstep.
Perhaps most famous for being William Wordsworth's home and inspiration for much of his poetry, Grasmere is adored by walkers and cyclists for its varied inclines and picturesque scenes. It is also home to the world-famous gingerbread shop, Michelin guide-recommended restaurants, tea rooms and cafes as well as quaint, local shops and galleries.
Seated at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, you can explore the waters or take a hike across hills and fells in every direction from Grasmere. You can also take a short trip to the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness-on-Windermere, or see her home at Hill Top in Hawkshead.
Rowan Cottage is an ideal spot to explore Grasmere and the Lake District any time of year, offering a serene place to rest and unwind in after exploring the outdoors.
