The Glebe, the park nestling on the shores of Lake Windermere, is only a very short distance and has a pitch-and-putt course, tennis courts and play area. Overlooking the lake, it is a perfect place for enjoying the beautiful scenery on your doorstep. The Windermere Steamers also depart from The Glebe taking passengers up and down Lake Windermere to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside. Row boats can also be hired and taken out on to the lake. Brockhole is the National Park's visitor centre and has some beautiful gardens and an adventure play area. It is also home to a treetop trek for the more adventurous guests. This part of the Lake District has a very wide appeal - perfect for families, with a host of watersports and mountain biking available, and great for couples wishing to enjoy the romantic beauty of the lakes and mountains.
