The property has an interesting history, being formerly in the Wordsworth family and it is known that William himself used to visit the house and indeed wrote poetry here. Huntingstile sits in a commanding position, elevated above Grasmere Lake with spectacular panoramic views over mature gardens, and across the lake to the surrounding fells of Loughrigg, Stone Arthur and Helm Crag. Note: The garden is enclosed from the road however as the property is part of a larger separate house, the gardens wrap-around both Huntingstile South and the neighbouring property, so guests will need to please be careful to use their side of the gardens only. Note: There is a stream that runs directly through the property and some low walls with sheer drops, please do not leave children or pets unattended. Note: There are some stone steps and bridges outside that become slippery when wet, please take care.
