The tiny 'Bridge House' is one of the most photographed places here, sat on a bridge in the middle of the village. Oh, and don’t forget our Roman fort, Galava. One of William Wordsworth's former family homes can be visited nearby at Rydal Mount & Gardens. His Grasmere home, Dove Cottage, is also worth a visit and only a short drive away on the scenic A591. You can also head over the equally scenic Kirkstone Pass to the beautiful Ullswater Valley.
