The kitchen then leads out to a raised patio area and above that is a very pretty garden; a tranquil and elegant spot to soak up the sun, read a good book and enjoy your favourite tipple. The two bedrooms are pleasantly furnished and styled and a good-sized bathroom ensures that guests have all they could ask for in this lovely Lakeland cottage. This holiday home is a short walk to the main high street, Boroughgate, which is described as being one of the finest in England, and it’s also only a short walk to the river where you can walk past the cricket ground and out along the river bank where friendly ducks and even an occasional elusive otter can be sighted. Spend time exploring the magnificent countryside or take a trip on the famous Settle-Carlisle railway line and visit the likes of Settle and Skipton to take in the Yorkshire countryside before crossing the famous Ribblehead Viaduct. To the west of Appleby is the Lake District whose northern and central lakes are within easy reach, and to the east lie the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With the Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders all within easy reach makes any holiday in this wonderful area a memorable one.
