Positioned close to the Waterhead district of Ambleside, you are not far from the pier which provides regular cruises across the lake, offering you a chance to see the beauty of the area with stop-offs at Bowness-on-Windermere and Lakeside. Get to know your surroundings by taking a walk into the town centre where you will be spoilt for choice by the quaint selection of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants and even an independent cinema. Venture out of Ambleside and visit Wray Castle for the day, which has a huge, largely undiscovered gravel beach of its own, and was Beatrix Potter’s first Lakeland holiday home at the age of 16.
