The property
Whithorn 8.3 miles. Resting in the charming seafront village of Port William, Dumfries and Galloway is Westview, a delightful, beachfront terraced cottage, ideal for families and holidaymakers, looking to explore this idyllic area. Enjoying stunning sea views and a tranquil position, Westview offers six guests a haven for relaxation, whilst complete with a reverse-level layout to take advantage of the coastal position. Upon entering the cottage, a welcoming hallway greets you, where you can sit on a bench, kick off your shoes, and hang your coats. Be welcomed by three ground-floor bedrooms, including a king-size with a Simba mattress, a Smart TV & DVD (streaming only), and en-suite with walk-in shower, a double bedroom with rear views, and a twin (zip/link), overlooking the private garden. The bathroom also rests on the ground floor, followed by a convenient “micro” drinks station for making tea, coffee, or grabbing a cold drink from the fridge; the washing machine and tumble dryer is also housed here. Travel up the staircase to reach the open-plan living space, which
features a sleek kitchen, a plush **double and corner sofa, a woodburning stove, and dining space for six; enjoy mesmerising views across the bay while delving into a good book, before gathering together for a dinner party. Sit at the breakfast bar and enjoy the double window view of the bay, we have also provided binoculars so you can view the sea life from the window seat in the lounge. If you'd prefer an alfresco affair, outside, an Indian sandstone paved patio area with wooden tables and chairs as well as low seating and a table to catch the afternoon sun leads to a raised grassed area with an apple tree, making it a delightful space to unwind. For some inspiration whilst visiting, a detailed information book awaits you with suggested day trip itineraries, along with details of all local restaurants, cafés, and pubs. We will also send you a link to a digital guide where you can view all the information on the go and prior to your arrival. Port William itself offers a small harbour, a general store with a Post Office, and a licensed café serving food and drinks, where you can enjoy a take-away breakfast or sandwiches. On your travels, discover the stunning Galloway Forest Park, Mull of Galloway with the lighthouse and café, Botanical gardens, or simply relax and take in the breath-taking coastal views at Westview, your ideal seaside getaway. "The View" is a cafe/bar located at the village port that serves food and has a bar open till late on Fridays and Saturdays (check times as vary)
