A trip to one of the nearby beaches is a great day out and just over the border into Cornwall you will find Bude and Widemouth Bay both having soft sandy beaches ideal for sun worshippers, dedicated sand castle builders or try your hand at surfing the white waves. For the more energetic, the Tarka Trail offers miles of safe walking or cycling or maybe a round of golf or a countryside horse ride are on your list of wishes. A picnic at one of the National Parks offers some fabulous scenery with rugged moorland and hidden valleys. With the owners' property close by and a sister cottage, also available to rent, this is an ideal base to explore this part of Devon.
