Well connected, you can walk (or take the train) along the picturesque Avocet Line following the eastern bank of the Exe estuary to the sea at Exmouth, or to Topsham with its interesting independent stores, boutiques and restaurants, both 3 miles away. Nearby there are several good food pubs in this little-changed village and many excellent attractions in the local area, including a number of good sandy beaches. For traditional family seaside fun, head to the beach at Exmouth (parts of which are dog friendly all year) where you’ll find acres of sand and for the adventurous among you a myriad of water sports. Lympstone Manor and its exceptional vineyard are close by, or for a fun day out with the children why not try the World of Country Life or Crealy family theme park.
