Fowey 4.4 miles. Oakenhurst is a traditional oak-framed boat house, nestled on the banks of the River Fowey in Cornwall, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Enjoying breath-taking riverside views and steeped in history from the 19th century, with exposed stone walls, lofty beamed ceilings, and a charming exterior, Oakenhurst welcomes two guests, offering the ideal base for a romantic retreat in the quaint village of Golant. Park up nearby before making your way to the boat house and ascending the oak steps, to reach the light-flooded open-plan living space, offering elevated views of River Fowey which ebbs and flows with the tide; prepare meals in the well-equipped kitchen and dine as a two, or relax in this space enveloped by beamed ceilings, traditional furniture whilst enjoying panoramic river views. When sleep calls, head upstairs to the mezzanine, also known as 'the ropeloft', to a plush 6ft zip/link bed which can be configured as two singles or one luxurious super-king-size double.
