When you feel like exploring further afield, the beautiful sandy beach at Lannacombe is within walking distance and from there you can pick up the South West Coast Path for fabulous walking with cliff top views and a visit to the lighthouse at Start Point and the excellent pub and fish and chips café at Beesands village. For more of a lively buzz, take the ferry from East Portlemouth to fashionable Salcombe to wander the tempting boutique shops and galleries and eat out at restaurants. Kingsbridge is another interesting little town which also has a good choice of shops and restaurants, as well as boat trips. And if activities are your thing, this is an excellent area for sailing, kayaking or paddleboarding around the lovely coast and estuaries.
