The property
Tucked away down a quiet rural road near the village of Touraneena in County Waterford is this detached farmhouse. This lovely cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished to offer families and groups of friends a true home away from home with the owner’s touches throughout. Set over two floors, this welcoming farmhouse boasts a variety of bedrooms including two family rooms. The fitted kitchen comes well equipped with a small dining area and for more social gatherings guests can enjoy a separate dining room with French doors that open out to the front patio. The farmhouse boasts two reception rooms, including a delightful sun room and a cosy sitting room with a solid fuel stove, the perfect addition to a slightly chilly evening. The farmhouse is situated on the owner’s working livestock dairy farm and to the front is a spacious lawned garden with scenic views to the front of the cottage across the fields. There is also a patio with furniture should you fancy dining alfresco! The sleepy village of Touraneena is home to a shop and a pub and is surrounded by a welcoming community. It lies between the Knockmealdown, Comeragh and Monavullagh mountains, the area provides excellent walking routes and the nearby village of Ballymacarbry hosts the famous Nire Valley Walking Festival each year. Just a short drive will take you to the harbour town of Dungarvan, home to gourmet cuisine, golf, sandy beaches and traditional pubs. For the history lovers, the historic village of Lismore is also a must see, home to Lismore Castle and Gardens. Furtherfield, the seaside village of Ardmore and also Youghal are wonderful places to spend the day with the kids. A wonderful destination in the sunny south east, with something for all the family.
