Enjoy riverside walks and catch sight of the active rowing club practicing, with these salmon-rich waters also being an excellent spot for keen anglers, with the Laune Salmon and Trout Anglers Association welcoming visiting anglers with permits and licenses available. Perhaps the most well-known thing about Killorglin is that it's home to one of Ireland's oldest, longest and most unusual festivals at the start of August, Puck Fair, which entails the tradition of capturing a wild Puck goat and enthroning it on a pedestal, as well as hosting open air concerts, dancing displays and lots more! The town is also a gateway to the Ring of Kerry on the Iveragh Peninsula, offering a wonderful cycling route for keen cyclists to really take in the magnificent scenery of the area. Ireland's highest mountain range, MacGillycuddy's Reeks provides a backdrop to the town, while the beaches of Cromane, Dooks and Rossbeigh are all within easy driving distance as is the Dingle Peninsula.
