The property

Settled in the peaceful village of Mickleton, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is this stylish, 19th century home-from-home dwelling, Millbank Cottage.

Enjoying a peaceful location, close to amenities and popular attractions, this charming cottage is the perfect base for a couple, a small family or a group of friends alike, who are seeking a relaxing holiday surrounded by countryside.

Take a stroll up the paved pathway and enter into the entrance hall, which houses a convenient cloakroom with basin and WC.

Enter into the warm and inviting sitting room, which is perfect for cosying up with your loved ones on the three-seater sofa, surrounded by beautiful furnishings and original features such as original flagstone flooring, exposed beams and exposed Cotswold stone walls, as you watch your favourite show on the wall-mounted Smart TV, all the while being kept warm and toasty by the woodburning stove.

Adjacent to the sitting room is a quaint study, where you can take yourself away for some peace and quiet, settled with a good book, nestled into the armchair.

If you are staying in to eat you can make your way through to the well-equipped kitchen, where you can rustle up flavoursome meals with the help of the electric range cooker, gas hob and microwave, as well as a dishwasher for ensuring an easy clean-up, before gathering at the smart breakfast bar to tuck into your meal!

If you return from one of your walks with muddy clothes, do not fear – a handy utility containing a washing machine and tumble dryer sits next to the kitchen!

Make your way up to the first-floor where you can get your rest in one of two well-presented bedrooms, a king-size with a TV, and a double bedroom, both boasting en-suites with underfloor heating and walk-in showers.

Outside, a tranquil garden with patio and lawn provides the perfect space to soak up the sun and enjoy your meals alfresco style.

After a lovely nights sleep, begin your day with a leisurely stroll through the local village, where you will find a well-stocked convenience store and farm shops, where you can pick up fresh and local produce for rustling up delicious meals for you and your loved ones.

If you fancy an evening of no cooking, there are two welcoming pubs, the Kings Arms which serves excellent food worthy of a top-class restaurant or if you would like something more traditional try the Butchers Arms.

Nearby, you will find the National Trust site of Hidcote, superb 20th-century gardens where lawn games can be played which offers exceptional views and two on-site cafes.

Next stop is the market town of Chipping Campden, home to the Court Barn Museum where you can learn more about the town’s local artist school and the history of the artists, and the magnificent National Trust Market Hall, where you can wander through the 17th-century open market hall.

A visit to Chipping Campden is the perfect spot to join the scenic Cotswolds Way, a 102-mile-long footpath that boasts some of the best views in the area.

Further afield is Stratford-upon-Avon, famous for being the birthplace of playwright, William Shakespeare, here you can walk the footsteps of the great literary at his former home and schoolroom and also visit the MAD Museum, or step back in time at Tudor World.
