The accommodation provided a lovely, comfortable stay with thoughtful touches like welcome baskets and fresh flowers. However, there were concerns about the steep staircase's safety for children and the sofa's comfort. Overall, guests appreciated the cleanliness, location, and friendly host, expressing a desire to return.

The property

The Cottage is a delightful, detached abode located in the quaint village of Ettington just six miles south of Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire. As you approach The Cottage you will have views of the nearby fields and the village church within your sights. An inviting and pet-friendly haven that boasts the picture-perfect, white picket fence, enclosing the pretty Cotswold stone garden, with a picnic table and ample, off-road parking for two cars. A prime location to explore the nearby amenities. This makes The Cottage an excellent choice for couples seeking a peaceful escape with their much-loved canine companions. Step inside to discover the living room, where off to the right you’ll find the large well-equipped kitchen and dining area. The kitchen features a part of the original stone wall of the 174 year old cottage. You have a dining table for four guests and can enjoy home-cooked meals prepared with love. Relax in the spacious sitting room, complete with books, Smart TV and a sound system for entertainment. Freshen up in the ground-floor bathroom, which boasts a large walk-in shower for your comfort, relaxation and convenience. The utility room alongside has a washing machine and dryer available for guests to use during their stay. As you make your way upstairs, a well-kept super-king-size bedroom awaits, providing a peaceful sanctuary to drift off to sleep after a long day of adventures. There are also two futons in the adjoining bedroom accommodating two extra guests, ideal for children and young teenagers. In the morning you can enjoy your coffee outside, (for evenings a glass of wine) in the enclosed private garden area. This tranquil space is perfect for soaking up the peaceful surroundings whilst watching the sunset in the evenings. Venture out to explore the wonderful village of Ettington, alive with a welcoming atmosphere and offering a good variety of local walks and hikes. You are bound to meet many of the local families out walking their dogs and enjoying the many beautiful views across the nearby surrounding hills and farms. Just a short walk along the high street, you will discover The Ettington Village store. The store includes a delightful café, ideal for enjoying ‘coffee and croissants’ and the shop, for topping up with some essentials for your stay. There is also the traditional village pub 'The Chequers Inn’. Here there is a bar, restaurant and lovely takeaway food, available, all year round. For a wider selection of food and dining, head to close by Stratford upon Avon. Stratford offers a variety of excellent restaurants catering to all preferences and taste buds, perfect for indulging in a delicious treat outside the comforts of The Cottage. Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, where you can explore the Tudor World Museum, the Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust, or choose to attend a performance at the renowned Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Stratford-upon-Avon is also home to Mary Arden’s House and Ann Hathaway’s Cottage and Garden. Please note: this property requires a minimum stay of 3 nights; from the beginning of July until the end of September only weekly bookings can be accommodated starting on a Friday. Second bedroom with 2 x futons - please note that the second bedroom is accessed through the master bedroom, making it particularly suitable for children or younger teenagers.
