The property

Lavender Cottage is a beautiful double-fronted retreat, resting in the bustling market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, in the charming Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, ideal for a family or group of friends seeking a relaxing break in this wonderful market town.

Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the elegantly decorated sitting room, which blends contemporary and period features to create a homely, comforting atmosphere. Bold colours and fashionable furnishings set this property apart. Look forward to a relaxing evening with loved ones in front of the woodburning stove, unwinding with a glass of your favourite drink and a good book from the shelves.

Rustle up a delicious meal in the well-equipped, sociable kitchen/diner, which boasts stunning skylights that allow sunlight to pour into the open space, along with underfloor heating to warm your toes after a day of exploring. Bi-fold doors open into the enclosed split-level garden, bordered by shrubs, potted flowers, dwarf olive trees and a graceful cherry tree. Enjoy al fresco dining at the glass rattan table, or climb the steps to the upper tier, where an elegant bench awaits. A side gate leads to an alleyway and onto the main road for added convenience.

Completing the ground floor is a handy cloakroom, which also doubles as a utility space, ideal for storing coats and shoes or giving muddy boots a quick clean before heading upstairs.

After a day of adventure, head up to the first floor, where you’ll find two bedrooms and a stylish shower room. The first is a pleasing double room; the second, a convenient twin room with an ornamental fireplace. The pristine shower room features an invigorating walk-in shower, a perfect way to wind down.

The master bedroom, located on the second floor, is an impressive dual-aspect space with exposed wooden beams and a king-size bed. This room benefits from its own bathroom, so you can soak in the tub with a drink in hand, far from the hustle and bustle.

After a restful night, start your morning with a hearty breakfast in the kitchen and get ready for another day of adventure.

Just moments from your doorstep lies the historic market square, the heart of the community, home to boutique shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. Don’t miss the farmers’ market on the second Thursday of each month, where you can sample tempting local produce. Stay local and visit the Fosse Gallery to admire contemporary British art, enjoy a bite to eat and a drink at The Stag at Stow, or indulge in tea and cakes at The Old Bakery Tea Room.

As one of the highest towns in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold offers plenty of scenic walks and cycle routes with beautiful rural views. Explore the Gloucestershire Way – a 94-mile trail from Chepstow Castle to Tewkesbury, or enjoy more local strolls through the surrounding countryside.

Plan a day trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, take a tour with Undiscovered Cotswolds, or join a guided adventure with Cotswold Walks or Hikes & Bikes, all just a short drive from Lavender Cottage.
