The property

Enjoying stunning views over Lydney and the Severn Estuary is this splendid first-floor apartment, The Stable, part of a wonderful conversion of a Grade II listed coach house perched on a hill. Located in the grounds of the owner’s home and carefully converted to a high standard whilst retaining original, character features, this spacious apartment is perfect for couples or small families to enjoy the delights of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Enter into the tastefully appointed open-plan beamed living space where you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen overlooking the walled courtyard below, fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer among the appliances, sure to inspire some lovely home-cooking. Enjoy meals around the dining table and chairs in the corner before retiring to the plush seating to relax and watch a good film or simply continue the conversation over some wine into the evening. The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed and enjoys glorious view over the countryside to the rear of the property, whilst the lovely twin bedroom overlooks the courtyard to the front of the coach house, both delightful views to wake up to. The delightful, extensive shared gardens feature four ponds and are just perfect for relaxing and enjoying a welcome drink after the day’s activities, or perhaps stroll down the hill into the town and sample one of the many pubs, cafés or restaurants. The stunning countryside of the nearby Forest of Dean makes a wonderful place to begin your adventures, with excellent walking within the enchanted landscape, as well as thrilling mountain biking trails and peaceful fishing spots. The incredible long-distance walking path of Offa’s Dyke is also a great way to discover the landscape taking you up through the Wye Valley. The Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail is sure to be a hit with all ages, whilst the nearby attractions of Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, Littledean Jail, Symonds Yat Rock and the Dean Forest Steam Railway are all well worth visiting. The pretty, riverside towns of Chepstow, Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye are also close by with the bustling cities of Cardiff and Newport an easy drive away, offering a fantastic selection of restaurants and pubs.
