Summary
The property offers spacious accommodation, suitable for large groups and dogs, with a well-maintained garden. However, it is showing signs of aging and the security of the garden is lacking. While cleanliness is noted, there are concerns regarding mattress quality in some rooms. The location is great for amenities and sightseeing.
The property
Trevow sits in a tranquil hamlet setting in a country idyll, nestled against a pretty native woodland yet easily accessible from the A30. Accessed down a private driveway, this well-presented detached house has a generous wrap-around mature garden with a lawn and patio area. Perfect for families and friends, cyclists, naturalists and walkers, or anyone seeking a rural getaway within a short drive of the most stunning sandy beaches and picturesque coastal resorts, Trevow offers a modern and spacious interior. The contemporary kitchen has a breakfast bar and sofa, perfect from which to enjoy the surrounding views of the garden and native woodland or watch TV. From ice cream maker to Nutri Bullet, food blender to recipe books, the well stocked kitchen contains all the appliances you will need come rain or shine! Walk through to the dining room, with patio doors to the terrace, for social feasts and barbecues. The large separate sitting room has lovely garden and country views, with a woodburning stove for extra cosiness and music system with Bluetooth, radio and CD player. The sheltered, secluded garden enhances alfresco dining with a woodland backdrop - particularly beautiful when the bluebells are in bloom. There is plenty of space on the grass or terrace for children to run around, play hide and seek. Enjoy a stroll through the scenic woodland, accessed from the rear garden. With a TV, Table Tennis table, yoga mat, and small selection of hand weights, the games room will help keep all ages entertained if the weather turns. There is also a wide selection of games and books. There is space to keep bikes dry and stored securely. The first floor is host to four bedrooms, guaranteeing comfort and peaceful slumber. All have large views over the surrounding garden and countryside. The master has an en-suite shower room, and there’s a smart family bathroom too. Trevow makes a superb base for exploring the north and south Cornish coastlines. A wide selection of beaches on both north and south coasts are easily accessible. Most have RNLI Lifeguards on duty from 10am to 5:30pm. Visit sandy Portreath beach with its fantastic rock pools, caves, great surf, cafes, bike, kayak, surf board wetsuit hire and surfing lessons. For cyclists Trevow is situated within easy cycling distance of the Mineral Way network of 180 miles of linked cycle routes from Bude to Lands End. The Coast to Coast part provides an easy, flat, off road route perfect for children with bike hire available. For walkers access to some of the most stunning parts of the SW Coastal Path is close by, energy levels can be topped up by the many cafes along the way! Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy spotting seals at Godrevy’s “secret seal cove” and all round the coast. The area boasts a wide variety of birdlife and sealife. Marine Discovery Tours are available from Penzance and there is a Seal Sanctuary at Gweek. Hayle Estuary and Nature Reserve is a worthy destination. The Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary and Newquay Zoo have more exotic creatures. Iconic St Ives with dinky harbour, galleries, restaurants shops and four beaches, is a favourite resort. A pretty train ride right along the coast operates from nearby St Erth Station. Marazion, with big arc of golden sand is great for boating and kayaking, with the famous landmark St Michael’s Mount reached by a cobbled causeway or ferry. Head to Falmouth with big harbour, National Maritime Museum and beaches for sheltered swimming. Falmouth can be accessed by a fun Park and Float scheme. Pool, 2 miles away, has good supermarkets for provisions. After a fun filled day, you’ll welcome returning to the peace and comfort of Trevow – a superb holiday retreat anytime of the year. The owners will be more than happy to supply plenty more local information, also detailed in the Welcome Pack along with a wide selection of guides.
