Summary
Guests consistently praise the charming property for its cozy ambiance and prime location, ideal for walks and pet-friendly experiences. However, feedback highlights issues with outdated appliances, unclear directions, and safety concerns regarding the garden. Improvements in furnishings and amenities are suggested.
The property
Tucked away next to the Coast Path leading down to Rinsey Cove and mine, is The Studio, a detached cottage with fantastic far-reaching views over Mount’s Bay and west Cornwall. Previously used as an art studio by a renowned artist, it has been beautifully restored and renovated. Enter through large private gates, cross a sweeping courtyard and head into the big kitchen/dining room with tiled floor and French windows overlooking the terrace and garden. Three steps lead down to the stylish sitting room which has a wooden floor and large granite inglenook with a wood burning stove. Also on this level is a pretty twin bedroom (zip-linkable to 6' double) and shower-room. Open tread pine stairs take you to the first floor and a double bedroom with en suite shower-room and views out to sea and across the countryside. Outside, the garden is private, peaceful and relaxing with a stone terrace with table and chairs, lawn, shrubs and trees (there is a raised area within the garden) Just a few yards from the Coast Path, The Studio has fantastic walking from the front door. The hamlet of Rinsey comprises mostly granite cottages, a cliff-top engine house standing sentinel to its tin mining history and is a short walk from its own little cove, which is owned by the National Trust. Nearby Praa Sands is one of Cornwall's finest sandy beaches and the village of Porthleven is a real foodie destination, with interesting shops, cafes and restaurants sitting around its pretty harbour.
