Nearby is the fishing village of Porthallow, halfway point along the south west coast path, and there are quiet beaches within a mile’s walk where you can swim in the Helford estuary. Four of the recently listed great places to eat in The Times are within minutes drive - Fat Apples Café, The Green House, The New Yard at Trellowarren and of course Kota in the foodie haven of Porthleven. Further afield you will find the sparkling waters of Kynance Cove and glorious gardens of The Minack Theatre with stage productions throughout the year.

Nature-lovers can visit many local gardens with Trebah and Glendurgan gardens accessible via the foot ferry from Helford. Both are beautiful verdant gardens with exotic plants, palms and even a maze.
